It was possibly the stupidest mistake in the world.
It's erm, become quite a popular thread. I've managed to catch up to page 6 of the comments, but it never ends. And I'm enjoying it. I don't know what I enjoy about giving critique, but the simple fact is it's a lot of fun and introduces me to loads of new styles of art, which before I might have overlooked simply because it wasn't "my thing". Now I'm having to check out things I wouldn't have normally chosen to view, and look at it objectively. It's opening my mind to all new different styles of art! I've contimplated stopping a couple of times, but then someone else posts their new piece and it makes me want to carry on.
The best part is, everyone is so nice about it. I've not had a single snotty nosed whiner complaining that I didn't understand their work (touch wood) and I'm sorry to say I'm suprised about that! I thought more people would be annoyed at me when I gave critique, but most have been really greatful and appreciative
I'm toying with the idea of starting a "featured" journal on here, and do monthly / weekly features of the best art that I've had to critique. Some of the pieces I've critiqued on that thread have had hardly any page views and some of them really, really, should. I'm not sure if I will do this, but if the thread keeps going as popular as it is, I'll definately keep it in mind...
Until next time,
Sarah

And I'll change it on here, too
